The Gathering

Hello Bloggers and Readers alike! Sorry this is late!

I just wanted to say a few words before i start this installment of my new series!

Each one of my theme days may be moved a day or two ahead or behind depending on my week schedule and depending on where I am I may not be able to write anything. Im sorry for giving each of the themes a day to correspond with but they may have to wait just a few more hours! Thanks for reading and taking the time to stop by so without further interruption! heres this weeks installment,

The Gathering!

Today i am writing on the gathering! Which is my personal devotion reading from C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity. This week i read chapters 1 and 2. Chapter one is my main topic of discussion today which was about the law of human nature. The law of human nature is our behaviors and how we act. Now everyone knows this law wether we debate or not. C.S. Lewis says “Human beings have this thought that they ought to behave in a certain way, and cannot get rid of it. Secondly that they do not in fact behave in that way. They know the Law of nature; they break it” (C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity).

I believe C.S. Lewis was correct in saying this. I think that people think that the culture, or the ways that we act and do things in a certain area of the world is the way we HAVE to do things, which is not true. We can be different as Christians are different from the world. We are not of the world but in the world. We don’t follow the world we follow God. This is what Christians are to do and who we are. C.S. Lewis had it right when he says we need to think clearly about ourselves and the universe we live in.

I think we as Christians have put Christianity into a box and made it that only. We have made the Holy Spirit do nothing anymore in todays worship times. The Holy Spirit in the early church days was on the move and was doing amazing things. The Holy Spirit gave power to Christians during the Pentecost to speak different languages and to heal people!

We as Christians have totally looked to deeply into the structure and planing of the worship and even in our own lives to the point where the Holy Spirit no longer plays a role. The Trinity is something that we need to believe in 300% (let me explain before you go crazy) and not have any doubts. If we believe 150% in Jesus, 150% in God then we leave no room for the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit does things all the time on the whim and in the moment and if we make everything in a certain time and in a box especially during our worship times in a local church or organization then we are not allowing the Holy Spirit to do anything and we are relaying on the culture and on our own thoughts. Churches could become the thriving and growing bodies of Christ. Churches need to allow the Holy Spirit to do things and not hold back.

Well those are my thoughts on this weeks The Gathering! Thanks for reading and This is my first week through my new Installments! Thank you so much to everyone who’s reading! Don’t forget to come back each week for my new installments!
